MDM Terms of Use Issue

Ok, this post is about an issue that took me longer to fix than it probably should have. I was trying to Azure AD Join (AADJ) a machine to our Azure AD and it kept failing. It was giving me the following error:

Something went wrong.

Specifically, it states “Looks like we can’t connect to the URL for your organization’s MDM terms of use.”

I spent a bit of time searching on what could be causing this issue. I even went and reset our MDM/MAM URL’s in Azure AD. Nothing was working.

Then, a few days later, I was troubleshooting it further and was going back to the basics of what was required and guess what I found? The account I was testing with didn’t have an Intune license. Yep, such a simple thing, right?

I really wish that the error message had a better description such as “Intune license not found” or something like that. Hopefully if you are reading this you will remember it if you ever do run into this issue, or you were “Bing’ing” for an answer and matched the error term and this helped you out.
